Position Job Title: Nurse Clinical/UKHC/CH 7 Main/7P Requisition Number: NR15162 Department: H3000: Acute Care Grade: Level 10 Location: Lexington, Kentucky Employment Type: Staff Time Status: Full-Time Compensation Salary Range: $28.00-$39.10 per hour Schedule 3 shifts per week, 12-hour day (7 a.m. - 7 p.m.). Weekend and holiday shifts required. Qualifications Required Education: Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) Preferred Education: Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) + at least 1 year RN experience Licensure and Certification: Active Kentucky RN license (or equivalent compact state RN license, provisional license, or TWP) American Heart Association Basic Life Support (AHA BLS) certification, valid for at least 6 months after employment date No prior nursing experience required; no supervisory responsibilities. Physical: Ability to lift, carry, push or pull 50-100 lb daily and 25-50 lb frequently. Stand, walk, sit for prolonged periods. Potential exposure to communicable diseases, radiation hazards, and injuries from patients or sharp instruments. Responsibilities Provide comprehensive, continuous, patient-centered care, which includes: Assessing, documenting, planning, implementing, teaching, developing, and evaluating a nursing plan of care. Delivering direct patient care and ensuring patient satisfaction. Training and delegating duties for Nursing Care Technicians (Nursing Assistants). Adhering to university policies, federal, state, and local regulations. Collaborating with nursing staff and physicians to improve communication and patient outcomes through the nursing process. Skills & Knowledge Knowledge of Maslow’s Basic Human Needs, Gordon’s Functional Health Patterns & Swanson’s Caring model. Excellent direct patient care and critical-thinking abilities. Basic computer and internet navigation skills. Professional, respectful communication with patients, families, co-workers, and physicians. Strong organization, prioritization, and delegation skills.
