About the Position

Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Labor and Delivery Duration: 12 weeks Shift: Day Hours per Shift: 12 hours (07:00 - 19:00) Experience: Minimum of 2 years License: Required Certifications: BLS, ACLS, NRP Required; AWHONN Intermediate Preferred Must-Have: Experience in labor and delivery Description: We are seeking motivated and experienced labor and delivery nurses to work in a team-based unit. The patient population includes neonates, infants, and adults. Candidates should have experience with labor (vaginal), C-sections, multiple births, postpartum hemorrhage, and pregnancy-induced hypertension. The nurse-to-patient ratio is 1:1-2. The unit has 16 labor and delivery beds with an average daily census of 15. The charting system used is Epic. Scrub color will be provided by the facility. The maximum allowed time off is 7 days. There are blackout dates during spring break, and weekend shifts are required. Call requirements include two calls for every six weeks for both morning and evening shifts. If one major holiday falls during the assignment, the nurse is expected to work it. If two major holidays fall during the assignment, the nurse is expected to work both. If three major holidays fall during the assignment, the nurse is expected to work at least two of the holidays. Full compliance is required to start on time. Travel experience in the labor and delivery setting is required. The ideal candidate will possess skills in administration of blood products, assistance with high-risk deliveries, breastfeeding support, and managing postpartum care. This position requires the ability to assess fetal heart rate patterns and manage complications during labor and delivery. The ability to work efficiently with interdisciplinary teams will be necessary.
