Mid-Level Employment Litigation Associate Attorney (3–7 Years)

Direct Counsel is seeking a Mid-Level Employment Litigation Associate Attorney to join a leading labor and employment law firm in its Dallas, Texas office. This is an excellent opportunity for an employment litigator looking to grow a practice under the mentorship of talented partners while handling sophisticated matters in a collaborative, hybrid environment.

The ideal candidate will have strong Labor & Employment experience, including trial and arbitration experience , and the ability to independently manage employment litigation matters from inception through resolution.

Responsibilities

• Independently handle employment litigation matters from inception through resolution.

• Draft and respond to pleadings and other litigation documents.

• Manage all aspects of discovery.

• Draft and argue dispositive and other motions.

• Take and defend depositions.

• Represent clients in mediations, arbitrations, and trials.

• Handle employment discrimination matters.

• Advise and represent clients regarding restrictive covenant disputes.

• Develop case strategy and manage litigation matters efficiently.

• Communicate with clients, opposing counsel, and other parties throughout the litigation process.

• Manage multiple matters and competing priorities in a fast-paced environment.

• Collaborate with partners and colleagues while providing exceptional client service.

Qualifications

• 3–7 years of Labor & Employment experience.

• Trial and arbitration experience is required.

• Demonstrated ability to independently handle litigation matters.

• Experience with:

  • Employment litigation

  • Pleadings and discovery

  • Motion practice

  • Depositions

  • Mediations

  • Trials and arbitrations

  • Employment discrimination matters

  • Restrictive covenant issues

• Excellent academic credentials.

• Strong legal writing, research, analytical, and problem-solving skills.

• Excellent organizational skills and ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.

• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.

• Growth mindset and commitment to providing exceptional client service.

• Collaborative approach and ability to work effectively as part of a team.

• J.D. from an ABA-accredited law school required.

• Admission to the Texas Bar required.
