Family Medicine Physician

Overview

Kosciusko, United States — Adelphi is seeking a Physician to provide medical services at a State Veterans Nursing Home in Kosciusko, Mississippi. The ideal candidate will provide onsite resident care by performing medical assessments, physical examinations, treatment planning, medication management, care plan review, discharge support, and medical oversight. This role supports resident health and continuity of care by ensuring timely primary medical services, regulatory-compliant medical coverage, and appropriate clinical documentation.

Responsibilities

• Perform medical assessments and physical examinations for residents.
• Develop treatment plans and manage medications for residents.

• Ensure timely primary medical services, regulatory-compliant medical coverage, and accurate clinical documentation.

• Schedule: 24 hours a day, 365 days per year; 40 hours on site weekly (excluding weekends); remaining hours on call. Daily visits by the Physician/Nurse Practitioner/Physician Assistant Monday–Friday beginning no earlier than 7:00 a.m.; NP/PA Monday–Friday 8 hours per day; on-call services must be provided at all times

Provider Requirements

• Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) from an accredited medical school.
• Current, unrestricted license to practice medicine in the State of Mississippi.
• DEA registration and authority to prescribe controlled substances.
• Minimum of 3–5 years of clinical experience, preferably in long-term care, geriatrics, or skilled nursing facilities.
• Ability to supervise and collaborate with nurse practitioners, physician assistants, and interdisciplinary clinical teams.
