Inside Sales / Counter Sales Representative

Location: Woburn, MA (onsite)

Job Type: Full-time, onsite

About the Company

Our client supplies professional-grade heating and cooling equipment to HVAC contractors. Its lineup includes heat pumps, mini-splits, furnaces, and parts and accessories from superior brands. Our client works with contractors who need the right equipment on time, backed by knowledgeable people.

Position Summary

We're looking for a customer-focused Inside/Counter Sales Representative to be the first point of contact for contractor customers. You'll help them choose equipment, answer product questions, process orders, and arrange pickup or delivery, both at the counter and by phone and email. This is a hands-on, fast-paced role for someone who enjoys helping tradespeople get what they need.

Key Responsibilities

• Greet and assist contractors and walk-in customers at the sales counter

• Answer phone and email inquiries about equipment, availability, pricing, and specs

• Recommend the right systems, parts, and accessories based on the customer's project needs

• Prepare quotes and process sales orders accurately

• Coordinate order pickup, staging, and delivery with warehouse staff

• Check inventory and communicate stock levels and lead times

• Handle returns, warranty questions, and order issues according to company policy

• Support new dealer accounts and applications

• Keep customer records and order details up to date in company systems

• Follow up with customers to build repeat business and long-term relationships

• Help keep the counter and showroom/warehouse area organized and professional

Qualifications

Required

• 1+ years of sales, counter, or customer service experience (wholesale or trade supply preferred)

• Strong communication and customer service skills

• Comfortable with computers, order entry, and email

• Attention to detail and accuracy with quotes and orders

• Ability to work onsite full-time and stand for extended periods

• Ability to lift up to [50] lbs occasionally

 

Preferred

• Experience in HVAC, plumbing, electrical, or building supply

• Knowledge of heat pumps, mini-splits, furnaces, or HVAC components and terminology

• Familiarity with ERP/inventory or e-commerce order systems

• Experience working with contractors

• Contractor looking to get off the tools
