Job Summary The HRIS Analyst is responsible for the administration, optimization, and ongoing support of the company’s Human Resources Information System (HRIS). This role serves as the critical bridge between People Operations and IT, ensuring seamless system functionality, data integrity, and integrations across platforms. The ideal candidate brings strong technical expertise, including experience with databases, SQL, and Power BI, enabling advanced reporting, analytics, and data-driven decision-making. This role plays a key part in improving system efficiency, enhancing reporting capabilities, and supporting business growth through accurate and accessible HR data. Essential Duties & Responsibilities Maintain and optimize the HRIS (Paycom), ensuring accurate data entry, system configuration, and ongoing functionality Design, implement, and maintain data integrations and APIs Manage system upgrades, patches, and enhancements in partnership with vendors and IT Develop and maintain dashboards and reports in Power BI to support leadership decision-making Troubleshoot system issues and provide end-user support to HR, managers, and employees Extract, transform, and analyze HR data from the HRIS and other databases using query tools Participate in system implementations, upgrades, and integrations Ensure system compliance with internal policies and external regulations Ensure data integrity through regular audits, validation processes, and system controls Translate business needs into actionable reporting and analytics solutions Manage and support integrations between HRIS, payroll, benefits, ATS, and other enterprise systems Troubleshoot integration issues and monitor data flows across platforms Provide technical guidance on system capabilities and data architecture Stay current on new releases of features and functionality from HRIS platform provider, and summarize release notes and communicate across the team Identify opportunities to streamline HR processes through automation and system enhancements Recommend and implement best practices for HRIS functionality and data governance Support continuous improvement initiatives across People Operations Act as a liaison between HR, IT, Finance, and external vendors Support audits, compliance reporting, and ad hoc data requests Train HR team members and end users on system functionality and reporting tools This position may require travel to RailPros’ headquarters, field offices or client offices, work sites and other project related locations Contribute to a positive, inclusive, and respectful workplace culture, free from behaviors that undermine morale, productivity, or organizational values Uphold the organization’s standards of integrity, accountability, and respect in all duties and interactions Adhere to all company policies, procedures, and applicable laws and regulation Other duties as assigned or required to meet the business needs Qualifications: Knowledge Skills and Abilities: HRIS platforms and system configuration System integrations and APIs SQL (data extraction, joins, transformations) Power BI (dashboard creation, data modeling, visualization) Database environments Advanced Excel and data analysis Strong written and verbal communication skills Naturally curious and proactive in identifying opportunities to automate and optimize business processes Analytical mindset with strong attention to detail Problem-solving and technical troubleshooting skills Ability to translate complex data into clear insights Strong collaboration across HR, IT, and business stakeholders Process improvements and continuous optimization focus High level of data integrity and confidentiality Required Education And Experience Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Information Systems, Business, or related field (or equivalent experience) Demonstrated experience designing, implementing, maintaining, and troubleshooting data integrations and APIs between HRIS and other business systems, including experience with data mapping, testing, validation, and issue resolution. Strong SQL skills with experience querying data from relational databases or data warehouses Experience working with Power BI (or similar BI tools) to build dashboards and report 3–5+ years of HRIS or HR technology experience (multiple HRIS system experience preferred) Hands-on experience supporting HRIS platforms (e.g., UKG, Workday, ADP, Oracle, etc.) Knowledge of HR processes, data structures, and compliance requirements Why RailPros?
