Medical Billing Specialist
Physical Medicine Consultants is seeking a dependable and detail-oriented Medical Billing Specialist to join our healthcare team.
The ideal candidate will have experience with medical billing, insurance claims, denial follow-up, payment posting, and working aging reports. This position requires someone who is organized, accurate, and able to follow up consistently to help ensure claims are processed and paid in a timely manner.
Responsibilities
Review and submit medical claims accurately and timely
Follow up on unpaid, rejected, or denied claims
Work insurance denials, appeals, and reconsiderations as needed
Post payments, adjustments, and review EOBs
Review aging reports and follow up on outstanding balances
Verify insurance eligibility and benefits when needed
Communicate with insurance companies regarding claim status and payment issues
Review documentation and billing information for accuracy
Maintain accurate billing records and follow office billing procedures
Assist with other billing-related tasks as assigned
Qualifications
Medical billing experience required
Knowledge of CPT, ICD-10, modifiers, and insurance billing guidelines preferred
Experience with Medicare, Medicaid, and commercial insurance preferred
Experience with NextGen is a plus
Strong attention to detail and accuracy
Ability to work independently and stay organized
Good communication and follow-up skills
Dependable and able to meet billing deadlines
Pay
Starting at $18.00 per hour and up, based on experience
Schedule
Monday through Friday
Part-time or full-time availability may be considered
