Domain Architect

Role Description

The Domain Architect designs solutions to support non-functional requirements (availability, scalability, monitoring/alerting, etc.). Responsibilities include:

• Resolving technological disagreements with informed, rational debate.
• Adapting solutions using precedents that align with corporate initiatives and IT strategy.
• Performing assessments and developing joint recommendations on technical decisions and key architecture.
• Translating draft designs into technical design documents and gaining consensus from SMEs, Project Managers, and management.
• Developing architecture documents and artifacts from templates in collaboration with IT and business teams.
• Participating in the development and execution of IT governance processes.
• Comparing, contrasting, and prioritizing among alternative approaches to meet objectives while assessing risk.
• Developing and reviewing business cases targeting the architecture group and peers.
• Creating and reviewing technical statements of work and key presentations for various staff levels.
• Communicating effectively with non-technical audiences, including senior product and business management.
• Navigating between varying levels of abstraction from business strategy to detailed technical design.
• Researching and introducing best practice frameworks tailored for the environment.

Work will be performed remotely at home office.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science or related field.
• 7 years of experience with Information Technology, including client-facing technologies and commercial accounts.
• 5 years of experience with:
• Building and implementing large-scale transitions to Enterprise Information Architecture.
• Relational database application architecture.
• Modular design and architecture practices.
• Application performance tuning techniques.
• Developing integration interfaces using API (REST/SOAP) and Web services.
• Developing, refining, and maintaining technical documentation.
• Leveraging technology and innovation for continuous improvement.
• Full SDLC lifecycle.
• Lean / Agile development methodologies.
• Training and mentoring developers.

Requirements

• Experience with Lansa, AS 400, SQL, CL, DB2, .Net, MongoDB, AWS.
• Remote work is an option.
