Job Category: Academic Staff Employment Type: Terminal (Fixed Term) Job Profile: Research Program Coordinator Job Summary: The Shared Research Program Coordinator will coordinate research projects for several interconnected research teams within the Department of Family Medicine and Community Health. This program coordinator will work directly with study team members, collaborators, stakeholders and all research participants, to ensure that all study objectives are met. The position requires excellent administrative, organizational, written communication and interpersonal skills, cultural humility, as well as exceptional independence in planning, organizing, and implementation. This position is expected to serve as a coordinator for several diverse teams in DFMCH, including: Avanzando su Cuidado: Equitable Access Lab Dr. Yohualli Anaya, MD, MPH Dedicated to advancing healthcare so every community has access to high-quality, informed, and linguistically accessible primary care across the lifespan. Carvajal Lab Dr. Diana Carvajal, MD, MPH Patient-centered reproductive healthcare delivery, justice-based equitable primary care, and workforce diversity across reproductive health including abortions. Driving Connections Lab Dr. KJ Hansmann, MD, MPH, PhD Participatory research empowering primary care teams to leverage cultural humility and shared decision making to support patients and families as they navigate complex life transitions. Program, Research, Outreach, Therapeutics, and Education in the Addictions (PROTEA) Lab Dr. Randy Brown, MD, PhD, DFASAM Innovative treatment and prevention systems for addiction, substance misuse, and common co-occurring conditions. This position may require some work to be performed in-person, onsite, at a designated campus work location. Some work may be performed remotely, at an offsite, non-campus work location. Terminal 12 month appointment. This position has the possibility to be extended or converted to an ongoing appointment based on need and/or funding. This position has been identified as a position of trust with access to vulnerable populations. The selected candidate will be required to pass an initial caregiver check to be eligible for employment under the Wisconsin Caregiver Law and every four years. Candidates who demonstrate the following knowledge, skills, and abilities will be given first consideration: Ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects Ability to work independently and take initiative on tasks and/or projects Ability to consistently maintain a high level of attention to detail and demonstrate organizational skills Ability to communicate effectively (verbal and written) Key Job Responsibilities: Plans, develops, and implements processes and protocols to support research aims Coordinates the daily activities and contracts related to one or more research program(s) Serves as a key resource for IRB communications and assistance with Human Subjects Monitors program budget(s) and approves unit expenditures Serves as a unit liaison and subject matter expert among internal and external stakeholder groups, collaborates across disciplines and functional areas, provides program information, and promotes the accomplishments and developments of scholars and research initiatives Interacts with study participants and community engaged stakeholders, facilitates key interactions Assists in the development, coordination, and facilitation of trainings and workshops for internal and external audiences to disseminate research program developments and information Department: School of Medicine and Public Health, Department of Family Medicine and Community Health, Research Core Group The Department of Family Medicine and Community Health (DFMCH) at the University of Wisconsin is a leading clinical department within the School of Medicine and Public Health. DFMCH is dedicated to advancing patient care, education, and research. Our 18 clinics provide primary care to more than 170,000 patients, yielding over 375,000 patient visits annually. Each year, we train more than 160 residents (at sponsored and academic partner sites) and 300 medical students. Preference will be given to experience in community engaged research and outreach within public/community health and/or mental health. Experience collaborating with study team members, collaborators, community stakeholders and research participants including Spanish-preferring populations Preferred Qualifications: Knowledge of REDCap, OnCore, and other systems related to human subject data management Knowledge of Institutional Review Board (IRB) considerations.
