Overview Research Faculty – Neurology – Neurogenetics (Open Rank/Track Faculty) in the Department of Neurology, Division of Neurogenetics, College of Medicine, The Ohio State University. Positions available at the rank of Assistant Professor, Associate Professor, or Professor. The Division seeks full‑time faculty who employ molecular, cellular, neurobiological, genetic, and genomic approaches to study neurodegenerative diseases such as aging, Alzheimer’s disease, Parkinson’s disease and related dementias. Candidates should focus on translational applications, integrating cutting‑edge techniques, high‑throughput biomarker discovery, functional genomics, big data and machine learning. Responsibilities Design, conduct, and publish original research on neurodegenerative diseases. Develop and apply high‑throughput screening, biomarker discovery, functional genomics, and machine learning methods. Collaborate with clinicians and basic scientists within the Division and across the institution. Secure external funding and manage research projects. Contribute to the Division’s program of integrating clinical neuropathology, molecular characterization, experimental models, bioinformatics, and ML. Participate in multidisciplinary research, community engagement, and educational initiatives (as required for tenure‑track appointments). Qualifications Doctorate (PhD, MD, or other terminal degree) in a relevant field. Eligible for tenure or already tenure‑track (Assistant, Associate, or Professor). Demonstrated expertise in molecular, cellular, neurobiological, genetic/genomic methods applied to neurodegenerative disease research. Experience with high‑throughput screening, biomarker discovery, functional genomics, big data and/or machine learning. Strong record of peer‑reviewed publications and ability to secure external funding. Motivation to grow skills and broaden impact on healthcare.
