Staff Accountant

We are looking for a detail-driven Staff Accountant to support our Accounting team with month-end close, account reconciliations, tax reporting, intercompany activity, and audit-ready Accounting schedules. The Staff Accountant is a full‑time, hybrid role based in Torrance, CA, with a mix of in‑office and work‑from‑home days. This role is responsible for day‑to‑day accounting activities, including preparing journal entries and assisting with month‑end and year‑end closing. The Staff Accountant will reconcile bank and general ledger accounts, maintain accurate records, and help prepare reports and schedules for management and auditors. The position ensures compliance with internal controls and Accounting policies and collaborates with cross‑functional teams to resolve discrepancies. The Staff Accountant is expected to manage deadlines, handle sensitive information with discretion, and contribute to process improvements within the Accounting function. Specifics: What You’ll Do Here: Own key month-end close activities, including accruals, journal entries, and general ledger reconciliations. Prepare monthly bank reconciliations and review account activity to help ensure accuracy. Maintain and reconcile royalty payables and receivables, prepaid royalty income, withholding tax, and related quarterly and year-end royalty reporting. Prepare monthly reconciliations for AP/AR, prepaid expenses, inventory, PPE, and sales tax. Support annual IRS reporting, including Form 1042 and Form 1099 preparation. Assist with inter-company reconciliations and prepare debit and credit memos for inter-company transactions. Update quarterly related-party schedules for consolidation reporting. Prepare reports and schedules requested by external auditors for quarterly reviews and year-end audits. Support annual corporate tax return preparation and sales tax filings. Pitch in on special projects and other accounting priorities as needed. What You Bring to the Role: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting preferred. 1–3 years of accounting experience. Experience supporting external audits preferred. Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple priorities. A deadline-focused mindset with the flexibility to shift gears when business needs change. Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications; Microsoft D365 experience preferred. Clear communication skills and a team-first approach when working with internal and external stakeholders. Pay attention to hybrid work requirements: you must have your own transportation and be able to come into our Torrance office at least twice per week to collaborate with the team. #J-18808-Ljbffr
