Location: Austin, TX 78759 - Hybrid; onsite Tuesday, Wednesday & Thursday (non-negotiable)

Overview


Thales is seeking a Senior Revenue Accountant to support revenue recognition and accounting activities during an ongoing ERP and automated revenue system implementation. This is a fast-paced, hybrid contract opportunity with potential for conversion.


The ideal candidate will have 4-6 years of Accounting or Finance experience , strong analytical skills, and the ability to adapt to changing systems and processes. Direct revenue recognition experience is preferred but not required if the candidate can demonstrate transferable accounting experience.

Job Description

• Analyze and document sales transactions and complex revenue arrangements.
• Process, record, and reconcile revenue and deferred revenue.
• Support revenue-related month-end close activities.
• Perform balance sheet and revenue account reconciliations.
• Review contracts and commercial transactions to determine appropriate revenue treatment.
• Ensure compliance with IFRS and company revenue recognition policies.
• Prepare monthly revenue, deferred revenue, and roll-forward reporting.
• Research revenue recognition issues as needed.
• Support internal and external audits.
• Work closely with Sales, Operations, Legal, Finance, and senior management.
• Support ongoing ERP and automated revenue system implementation and process changes.

Required Skills

• 4-6 years of Accounting or Finance experience.
• Strong accounting, reconciliation, and financial analysis experience.
• Ability to analyze complex transactions and accounting issues.
• Experience supporting month-end close.
• Strong Excel and general systems aptitude.
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, changing environment.
• Strong communication skills and willingness to learn new systems and processes.
• Experience with Oracle ERP preferred.
• RevStream or RevPro experience highly preferred.
• Revenue recognition experience preferred.
• Knowledge of IFRS 15 / ASC 606 preferred.
• CPA preferred.

Education Requirements

• Degree required; Accounting or Finance preferred.

• Hybrid schedule requires onsite attendance Tuesday-Thursday.
