Staff Accountant

OVERVIEW

The Staff Accountant will prepare and maintain financial records to track the organizations assets, liabilities, profit and loss, tax liabilities, and other related financial activities.

This position has a compensation range of $26 to $31 per hour. 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

· Provide support for Financial Controller’s daily tasks by aiding with event management & planning performs general cost accounting and other related duties for the organization.

· Reconciles bank accounts monthly for multiple bank accounts and revenue streams.

· Ensures accuracy of processing and monitoring incoming payments, and securing revenue by verifying and posting receipts.

· Maintains and reconciles customer accounts, manages accounts receivable collections and addresses customer inquiries.

· Creates invoices according to company practices; submits invoices and statements to customers.

· Performs tip account reconciliations, investigates and resolves any irregularities or enquiries.

· Obtains information from other departments to ensure records are accurate and complete and that accounts receivable ledgers and journals are up to date.

· Provides outside auditors with assistance; gathers necessary account information and documents to perform annual audit.

· Maintains knowledge of acceptable accounting practices and procedures.

· Performs other related duties as assigned.

· Assists Financial Controller with year-end financial audit.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS

· Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

· Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.

· Knowledge of general financial accounting and cost accounting.

· Understanding of and the ability to adhere to generally accepted accounting principles.

· Ability to correctly prepare tax reports.

· Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or similar software, and accounting software.
