Patient Service Associate

Gastroenterology Patient Coordinator Department/Unit: HBD - Medicine Gastroenterology Work Shift: Day (United States of America) Salary Range: $46,215.00 - $60,080.00 Responsibilities include registering patients, updating insurance information, scheduling visits, interacting with a diverse patient population, utilizing the electronic medical record to maintain patient records, and communicating professionally with all parties. Essential duties and responsibilities include registration and scheduling process for complex patients, updating the system with registration, scheduling, and insurance information, preparing patient disability and out of work/school paperwork, discussing financial obligation and explaining regulatory forms, working in multiple systems during patient facing interactions and telephone call receipts, understanding the practice and hospital strategic plan, supporting plans, policy and procedures, and initiatives within scope of their departments expectations and role, representing AMC and supporting the ideals and principles of their department, the Practice, the Hospital and the Center, exemplifying Albany Med CARES guiding principles, being a champion to ensure an optimal patient experience, understanding and promoting patient and employee safety as our top priority, promoting a safe environment and promptly reporting issues, and understanding patient safety goals. Qualifications include a high school diploma/G.E.D., 2-3 years office experience or one year of related experience in a medical practice, experience using an electronic health record and Microsoft Office, excellent customer service skills, ability to multi-task in a high patient volume unit, ability to learn and utilize resources, strong time management skills, ability to review information and draw appropriate conclusions, good judgement and ability to problem solve; escalate issues as needed, strong teamwork skills and work ethic.
