Manager of Engineering Development

Company Overview:A long-standing, family-owned company specializing in chemical production based in Birmingham. With over six decades of experience, they have shown consistent growth and development. The recent promotion of a team member has created an opening for a Manager of Engineering Development, reporting directly to the Operations Director and overseeing three team members.Qualifications:Minimum of a Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering.Between 6 and 10 years of experience in areas such as chemical manufacturing, process engineering, or production engineering.Experience with batch or continuous chemical processing, along with OSHA PSM familiarity.Hands-on approach to engineering, problem-solving, and implementing improvements.Leadership experience, capable of managing a small technical team.Ability to lead and guide engineers while being involved in process optimization and troubleshooting.Excellent communication skills across various departments and levels.Role Overview:The Manager of Engineering Development will lead a small team at a specialized chemical manufacturing facility, adhering to PSM guidelines. Ideal for a senior process engineer seeking a move into supervision, offering minimal travel requirements.
