New Business Sales Manager

New Business Sales Manager JTEKT Column Systems North America Reporting Relationship Reports to the Director of Sales. Purpose Identify and develop new business opportunities at Commercial / Automotive OEMs; negotiate and secure the business at profitable levels. Develop and maintain productive customer relationships. Manage internal intra‑departmental activities related to commercial items – including management of the Business Development Team. Duties and Responsibilities Identify new business opportunities, such as finding possible growth areas, trends, markets, and customers. Develop and maintain long‑term business strategy plan, including collaboration with respective JTEKT & JCS development plans. Develop and execute growth plans and programs for new product opportunities capitalizing on the company’s current core competencies and utilizing existing capital as much as possible. Coordinate with sales team, marketing, product management, engineering, and operations/manufacturing in pursuit of meeting key customer requirements and aligning resources to close new business. Through understanding of the industry and major OEMs, end‑users, and other key industry players, develop knowledge of industry trends and needs and evaluate new opportunities for JCSNA products to provide solutions which support these trends and needs. Streamline margins through price adjustments and cost reduction analysis. Represent company at conferences, meetings and industry events. Set goals for the business development team and develop strategies to meet those goals. Prepare annual sales, marketing and expense forecasts with quarterly business reviews. Ability to effectively manage customer and staff relationships. Ability to identify and convert new business opportunities. Lead effective and productive meetings. Supervisor Responsibility Directs and manages all members of the Business Development Team as assigned. Will interface with customers, Engineering, Purchasing, Finance, Quality, Human Resources, industrial relations, local community officials, and technical and trade organizations. Work Environment This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment. Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or Business, or equivalent. Three years sales experience in the automotive industry direct to OEM a must. Experience with Japanese OEM or Tier 1 a plus but not required. Excellent organizational and communication skills. Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite. Team player and model employee. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust and focus. Position Type / Expected Hours of Work This is a full‑time position. Typical days and hours of work are Monday through Friday. This position regularly requires extended hours. Travel Travel to various worksites is required. Regular visits to both Bronson, MI and Hopkinsville, KY facilities will be required.
