Registered Nurse - Postpartum

Assignment Duration

This is a 13-week contract position.

Schedule

Night Shift: 4 nights on, 12-hour shifts (18:00 - 06:30). Weekend coverage required to meet staffing needs.

Job Description

The Registered Nurse (RN) in the Postpartum unit will provide comprehensive care to postpartum patients in a culturally diverse environment. The RN will be responsible for monitoring patient vitals, providing essential education to new parents, and assisting with breastfeeding support. This role requires the ability to float to different areas within scope to meet facility needs.

Responsibilities

• Administer medications and treatments as prescribed.
• Monitor and assess the condition of postpartum patients.
• Provide support and education to patients and families regarding postpartum care and infant care.
• Assist in Cesarean section recovery and ensure the comfort of patients post-surgery.
• Implement baby-friendly protocols and best practices.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams for comprehensive patient care.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Minimum of 1 year of nursing experience, preferably in postpartum or labor and delivery.
• Current CA state RN license (compact license accepted).
• Certification in ACLS, AWHONN Intermediate, and BLS.
• Experience with Epic charting system is required.
