MSW Central Oregon Option Site Coordinator

Position Summary Portland State University School of Social Work invites applications for an Assistant Professor of Practice (Non‑Tenure‑Track Continuous) position, 1.0 FTE, for a 9‑month term (9/16/2026–6/15/2027). The MSW Central Oregon Option Site Coordinator will instruct, manage the MSW Central Oregon Distance Option, coordinate curriculum and field placements, and maintain the field placement database. Responsibilities Teach MSW courses and lead instructional activities for the Central Oregon cohort. Collaborate with the MSW Program Director on curriculum design and instructional needs. Develop and maintain field placement opportunities, coordinate placement logistics, and provide field liaison services and seminars. Maintain the field placement database for the Central Oregon Option. Engage with the Central Oregon social work and social service community to support students and program relevance. Preserve and promote a safe, respectful, and professional academic environment. Participate in program and institutional service activities as assigned. Qualifications Required: Master’s in Social Work from an accredited School of Social Work. Minimum of 3 years of post‑master’s practice experience. Minimum of 2 years of social service administrative experience in a human services field and/or higher education (e.g., BSW/MSW field instructor, field liaison, staff supervisor, or social work educator). Understanding of human service and social work education needs in rural areas. Demonstrated commitment to racial equity and/or related frameworks. Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with diverse stakeholders (students, faculty, community partners). Strong oral and written communication skills. Preferred: Minimum of 1 year of teaching experience. Licensed Clinical Social Worker in Oregon or eligible for licensure; or a licensed Certified Alcohol Drug Counselor (CADC‑II or CADC‑III). Experience working productively on multidisciplinary teams and communicating effectively with diverse students, staff, faculty, and community partners.
