HRSA Program Coordinator Job Description Pay: $26.44 to $32.63 per hour Schedule: 0.75 FTE (30 hours per week) Benefits: This is a benefited position as outlined in TPC Employee Handbook Title: HRSA Program Coordinator Reports to: Senior Director of Consulting, Training, and Workforce Initiatives Department: Consulting, Training, and Workforce Initiatives Note: This is a 30-hour per week, 0.75 FTE role. The shift schedule is flexible, with the 30 hours to occur within the Monday - Friday workweek. Job Summary The Peer Company has been funded for a grant through the federal HRSA Behavioral Health Workforce Education & Training (BHWET) program. This grant, Project PEER (Peer Education & Experience Roadmap), will increase accessibility for people with lived experience hoping to enter the peer-delivered services workforce through the provision of stipends, coaching, training, and other technical assistance. An important component of Project PEER will be to develop and expand statewide experiential training sites such as field placements and internships to strengthen the development of students preparing to become peer support specialists. The project coordinator will play an important role in accomplishing these outcomes. The Program Coordinator works collaboratively with the Senior Director, program participants and applicants, and community partners to implement program objectives. This role will coordinate the work of Project PEER participants and community partners to ensure successful outcomes. Qualifications Education: Associate’s degree and 1-2 years of relevant work experience or a high school diploma and 3-4 years of relevant work experience. Pre-Hire Drug Screen: As part of The Peer Company’s commitment to fostering a safe, productive, and professional workplace, we require pre-hire drug screening for all potential employees. The screening will be conducted in accordance with The Peer Company’s drug screening policy and applicable state and federal laws. Experience Identifies as having lived experience in recovery with substance use disorder (SUD) and/or mental health challenges. Has at least 24 months of continuous, sustained recovery with SUD and/or mental health challenges before employment Understands the principles of trauma-informed care, recovery, consumer‑involvement Employees serving in recovery‑focused roles who have lived experience with substance use disorder (SUD) must maintain continuous recovery and remain abstinent by not engaging in substance or alcohol use (illegal, legal, and recreational) during their employment with TPC. Licensure/Certification Peer Support Specialist (OHA Traditional Health Worker certification) or MHACBO CRM certification required or able to be obtained within 90 days of hire Valid Oregon Driver’s License and proof of automobile insurance preferred. Access to reliable personal vehicle preferred Skills Must be a good communicator and sensitive to various communication and learning styles Comfortable with the shared duties and daily prioritization shifts inherent to a small non‑profit environment Ability to maintain high quality of work while being driven, independently motivated, and with a strong desire to succeed Ability to attend to competing priorities on a consistent basis while maintaining accuracy Ability to support grant evaluation activities; well‑developed writing skills including the ability to write for publication, and to create reports, technical assistance guides, and educational and training materials Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team Ability to work with people from diverse backgrounds and cultures Typing and general technology skills to navigate electronic systems easily and efficiently (e.g., email, Microsoft Teams, etc.) Ability to push/pull/lift/carry items up to 25 pounds Essential Functions Responds to incoming referrals and general inquiries about Project PEER Provides program orientation and ongoing support and modeling to Project PEER participants throughout the project lifespan Community Outreach to potential referrers and internship sites Identify and engage referral or internship providers Coordinate information sessions Educate referral providers about Project PEER so that they can make suitable referrals within grant parameters Cultivates relationships with outside agencies, including other peer-delivered services agencies in the area and across Oregon Supports professional working relationships with key partners throughout the state and conducts outreach to build key partner pool of available internship sites Provides administrative support through activities such as: Arranging logistics for virtual meetings (scheduling, outreach, moderating, etc.) and facilitating monthly connection opportunities for participants and experiential learning/internship site partners Providing high‑level coordination to Project PEER participants and partners (e.g., ensuring that all Project PEER participants have certification training, internship placements, engaging in stipend tracking and completing payment requests, providing technical assistance with support of Senior Director, etc.) Maintains accurate tracking/data system and collaborates with Senior Director to develop evaluation systems Communicate with all staff, partners, and supervisor in a timely and accurate fashion Travel by car as needed to perform coordinator duties Other relevant duties as assigned The above accountabilities represent work performed by this position and are not all-inclusive.
