Qualifications & Experience:

• Certification as a Sign Language Interpreter or relevant credentials
• Proficiency in American Sign Language (ASL)
• Previous experience interpreting within educational settings preferred
• Ability to accurately facilitate communication for Deaf or Hard of Hearing students
• Strong interpersonal skills and a collaborative spirit
• Knowledge of IEP processes and working with educational teams preferred

Key Responsibilities:

• Interpret classroom instruction and school activities between staff, students, and peers
• Provide communication support across a variety of settings, such as assemblies, small group work, and one-on-one sessions
• Adapt interpreting techniques to accommodate students’ individual needs and learning styles
• Serve as a reliable resource for Deaf or Hard of Hearing students, ensuring equal access to education
• Maintain professionalism, confidentiality, and ethical standards
• Collaborate respectfully with teachers, specialists, and school staff to best support student outcomes
