Machine Installation TechnicianInstalls new machines or heavy equipment and dismantles and installs machines or heavy equipment when changes in the plant layout are required.Essential Duties and ResponsibilitiesPlanning and laying out workInterpreting blueprints or other specificationsUsing a variety of hand tools and riggingMakes standard shop computations relating to stresses, strength of materials, and centers of gravityAligns and balances equipmentSelects standard tools, equipment and parts to be usedInstalls and maintains good order power transmission equipment such as drives and speed reducersGeneral HousekeepingOther duties as assignedKnowledge, Experience and Skill RequirementsWell rounded training and experience in the trade acquired through a formal apprenticeship or equivalent training and experience.Work EnvironmentMust be able to lift 50 lbs., squat, bend, stoop and kneel for short periods, climb a ladder, stand for long periods of time, constant arm extensionsOccasional exposure to elements such as heat, cold, noise, dust, dirt, chemicals, etc., but non to the point of being disagreeable.
