Marketing Assistant - Riverhead Books

We are looking for a Marketing Assistant to join our innovative Riverhead Books team at Penguin Random House. This hybrid role reports to the Marketing Director and requires onsite presence four days per week at 1745 Broadway, New York City. Responsibilities Provide general administrative support to the Marketing Director and the broader marketing team, including managing incoming requests from Sales, Editorial, Managing Editorial, and Art departments. Assist with brand and title‑specific marketing and promotional campaigns. Collaborate on creative programming for the book community, including newsletters, The Eddy newspaper, brand partnerships, and other initiatives. Maintain and update internal marketing database systems. Conduct consumer research and contribute to social media strategy across Twitter, Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, LinkedIn, and Goodreads. Coordinate category‑specific promotions and sweepstakes. Prepare materials for sales meetings and internal activations. Manage the reader request program and execute influencer mailings from the office and warehouse. Organize incoming marketing materials, galleys, and finished copies. Qualifications Strong interest in marketing and book publishing. Exceptional written and verbal communication skills. Excellent organizational and time‑management abilities with meticulous attention to detail. Ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects in a deadline‑driven environment. Solution‑focused mindset and flexibility to navigate busy schedules. Proficiency with Microsoft Office and major social media platforms. Knowledge of Photoshop, Canva, online marketing tools, advertising management platforms, and social media analytics is a plus. Extra credit for experience with: creating engaging video content for Instagram Reels, TikTok, or YouTube; developing strategic brand or product partnerships; digital analytics; photography. Salary: $51,000 per year, with eligibility for annual profit award or bonus depending on company results.
