Accounts Payable Specialist

POSITION OVERVIEW: The Accounts Payable Specialist will be responsible for performing a wide variety of accounts payable functions which include invoice processing, check disbursements, and customer-vendor relations. All responsibilities are to be performed in accordance with all laws and regulations, as well as Fontainebleau Las Vegas policies, practices, and procedures. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: The following and other duties may be assigned as necessary. Match invoices with receivers, purchase orders, and requisitions Audit invoices to determine accurate coding to proper general ledger accounts Perform data entry associated with accounts payable Prepare and review payment runs for accuracy, payment terms, and proper approval Maintain vendor accounts while staying in compliance with Company policies and procedures Research and reconcile monthly vendor statements Provide excellent service and communication to internal customers and external vendors, ensuring issues are addressed in a timely manner Communicate problems or discrepancies to management in a timely and efficient manner Temporary or permanent duties and responsibilities may be added to or modified as deemed necessary QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. High School Diploma required Six (6) or more months of experience in an accounting clerk role Demonstrated thorough knowledge of accounting principles and procedures Strong organizational skills with the ability to handle multiple tasks at once Professional verbal and written communication skills Advanced computer skills in MS Office, accounting software, and databases Ability to analyze large amounts of data and compile detailed reports Proven knowledge of payables standards and procedures Sound independent judgment Attention to detail, organizational, time-management, and problem-solving skills Must possess good mathematical and clerical skills Must be customer service-oriented with good communication skills Must be able to get along with co-workers and work as a team Must present a well-groomed appearance SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES This job does not have any supervisory responsibilities. CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS Member must be able to qualify for licenses and permits required by federal, state, and local regulations. LANGUAGE SKILLS Ability to read and interpret documents in English, such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to read and communicate verbally in English. Written communication skills in English may also be required. REASONING ABILITY Ability to apply commonsense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
