Patient Access Representative

Job TitlePosition Summary Responsible for creating the first impression of the organization's services to patients and families and other external customers. Essential duties may include scheduling, registration and insurance verification for both outpatient and inpatient services by collecting proper demographic information and securing authorizations for procedures. Acts as the primary liaison for patients receiving professional and hospital services at ECU Health.Minimum RequirementsHigh School or Equivalent (GED) or higher is required.Associate Degree: preferredBachelors Degree: preferred1 to 2 years of Registration and/or Billing experience within a healthcare setting is required3 to 5 years - customer service experience is requiredRequiredExcellent communication (both written and oral), detail orientation, organization, and multitasking skills requiredInsurance Verification experiencePreferredExperience with EPIC and medical office workflowsExperience with Microsoft Office/PC-based applications (Outlook, Word and Excel)Other InformationFull time position1ST shift, 630am to 3pm with a every other weekend and holiday rotation.About ECU Health Medical CenterECU Health Medical Center, one of four academic medical centers in North Carolina, is the 974-bed flagship hospital for ECU Health and serves as the primary teaching hospital for The Brody School of Medicine at East Carolina University.
