Qualifications and Experience:

• Valid Special Education Teacher certification for the state of Illinois
• Bachelor’s degree or higher in Special Education or related field
• Previous experience working with students with disabilities (mild to moderate or moderate to severe)
• Strong knowledge of IEP development and implementation
• Excellent communication, organizational, and classroom management skills
• Ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop, adapt, and deliver individualized instruction tailored to each student’s unique educational needs
• Prepare and implement Individualized Education Plans (IEPs), track progress, and participate in annual meetings
• Collaborate with general education teachers, support staff, and families to promote inclusion and academic success
• Foster a positive, encouraging classroom environment that promotes learning and independence
• Use evidence-based strategies and technology to support student growth
• Provide support, accommodations, and modifications as needed for student engagement and achievement
• Maintain accurate records and ensure compliance with all federal and state regulations
