Make a difference in the lives of middle school students by stepping into a contract role as a Special Education Resource Teacher for the upcoming first semester. This is an exciting opportunity to work with dedicated students in a resource setting, helping them reach their full potential in a supportive environment. Located conveniently in the Northbrook area near Evanston, this on-site position covers grades 6 during regular school hours.

Qualifications and Experience:

• Current Professional Educator License (PEL) and relevant teaching credentials required
• Proven experience as a Special Education Teacher, ideally at the middle school level
• Strong understanding of resource teaching and SPED classroom management
• Ability to build rapport with students, families, and staff
• Skilled in creating individualized educational plans and modifying lessons to meet diverse needs
• Effective communication, problem-solving, and collaboration skills

Responsibilities:

• Deliver small-group and individualized instruction to 6th grade students with special needs
• Collaborate with general education teachers and support staff to implement IEPs
• Track student progress, maintain accurate records, and provide regular updates
• Foster a positive and inclusive classroom atmosphere
• Provide guidance and support to ensure academic, behavioral, and emotional growth
• Participate in IEP meetings, staff events, and required training sessions

This contract is for the first semester, with the potential for extension if a permanent placement is not secured. School hours are 8:30 AM–3:30 PM, with a 32.5-hour weekly schedule. You'll be joining a committed team focused on student success and professional collaboration.
