Job TitleClassification: Full-Time, 12-month staff position Start Date: ASAP Schedule: 6:30a to 3:00p Reports To: Grounds ManagerJob DescriptionWhat You'll DoMow all turf on campus and perform routine lawn care, including aerating and fertilizingRemove leaves and perform tree maintenance and removalTrim and maintain all shrubs; prune shrubs and trees as neededMaintain irrigation systems across campusClean and mulch all landscape bedsRemove trash from campus groundsApply pesticides for weed, insect, and landscape disease controlPerform daily and routine maintenance on landscape/grounds equipmentMaintain landscape and grounds according to established zone assignmentsOperate heavy equipment, including front-end loaders, backhoes, large trucks, tractors, Bobcats, reel mowers, and limb chippersOperate mowers, string trimmers, edgers, blowers, chainsaws, and other motorized and non-motorized equipmentAssist with landscape installations and renovations, including floral displays; read and implement landscape design documentsWater annual flowers and spray weeds as part of routine careAssist with setup and move support for various on-campus eventsPerform daily campus safety walksRespond to storm damage and other landscaping-related emergencies as neededPerform snow and ice removal from roadways, sidewalks, and parking lotsOther related duties as assignedWhat You'll NeedHigh School diploma or equivalent requiredValid driver's licenseTwo years of experience in grounds maintenanceProficiency in landscape, turf, and irrigation maintenance preferredPhysical Demands & Work EnvironmentThis role is performed primarily outdoors in varying weather conditions, including hot, cold, wet, and humid environments, with a moderate to loud noise level.
