Job Summary Pediatric Registered Nurse (RN) position at Wellstar Cobb Hospital. The RN is a proactive member of an interdisciplinary team of licensed and unlicensed caregivers who ensure that patients, families, and significant others receive individualized high‑quality, safe patient care in the Emergency Department. Core Responsibilities and Essential Functions Exemplary Practice and Outcomes Performs the Nursing Process (assessment, diagnosis, outcomes, planning, implementation, evaluation) using evidence‑based practice and critical thinking to individualize care. Provides relationship‑based, patient‑centered care that adapts to population‑specific characteristics and cultural diversity. Partners with patients and significant others using appropriate methods (bedside shift report, interdisciplinary rounds, patient teaching) to keep goals focused. Practices current clinical standards. Teamwork and Collaboration Coordinates delivery and documentation of safe, quality patient care through inclusive interdisciplinary communication. Demonstrates teamwork and fiscal responsibility to support recruitment and retention. Participates in performance improvement activities and supports shared governance at all levels. Professional Development and Initiative Completes all required competency assessments and mandatory education. Serves as a preceptor or mentor to ensure workforce development and a healthy work environment. Evidence‑Based Practice and Research Promotes evidence‑based practice, research, and performance improvement. Upholds all system policies, legal and regulatory requirements, including TJC Patient Safety Goals. Participates in data collection and applies evidence to practice questions. Resources and Support Plans for patient care across the continuum while providing direct care. Develops protocols and procedures to achieve best‑practice outcomes. Supports efficient use of human and material resources. Performs other duties as assigned. Complies with all WellStar Health System policies, standards of work, and code of conduct. Required Minimum Education Graduate of an accredited/approved school of nursing. Baccalaureate degree in nursing (BSN) from an accredited school of nursing. Required Minimum License(s) and Certification(s) BLS – Basic Life Support or ARC‑BLS – American Red Cross Basic Life Support or BLS‑I – Basic Life Support – Instructor. RN – Registered Nurse (Single State) or RN‑COMPACT – RN – Multi‑state Compact. PALS – Pediatric Advanced Life Support or ARC‑PALS – American Red Cross Pediatric Advanced Life Support or PALS‑I – PALS – Instructor or PALS‑P – PALS‑Provisional (180 Days) within 180 Days. TNCC – Trauma Nurse Core Course or ATCN – Advanced Trauma Care for Nurses Course or TNCC‑P – Trauma Nurse Core Course – Provisional (18 Months) within 18 Months. ACLS – Advanced Cardiac Life Support or ARC‑ALS – American Red Cross Advanced Cardiac Life Support or ACLS‑I – ACLS – Instructor or ACLS‑P – ACLS‑Provisional (180 Days) within 180 Days. Required Minimum Experience Completion of accredited/approved school of nursing with requisite clinical hours. Experience with direct patient care is preferred. Required Minimum Skills Ability to read, write, and speak English. Proficiency in technology to support clinical care and basic computer skills. Strong interpersonal, collaborative, and customer‑service skills. Ability to function in a fast‑paced environment and respond to emergencies with decisiveness, composure, and respect.
