Contracts Manager

Element Biosciences seeks an experienced Contracts Manager to support the legal team in San Diego. The role involves drafting and negotiating commercial agreements, providing contract legal counsel across business functions, and collaborating with internal stakeholders to mitigate risk and align with company objectives.
Responsibilities
- Draft, review, and negotiate diverse agreements including NDAs, MTAs, and loan/rental agreements
- Deliver timely legal guidance to business teams while identifying and mitigating company risks
- Coordinate contractual and legal issues among internal stakeholders for resolution
- Provide legal review of marketing materials, publications, and customer-facing documentation
- Develop and maintain contract templates, playbooks, and legal procedures with cross-functional teams
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree with 6+ years contracts management or paralegal experience in life sciences/biotech
- Expertise in contract drafting, review, and negotiation
- Strong organizational and detail-oriented approach to complex priorities
- Excellent written and verbal communication and problem-solving abilities
- Self-directed, proactive with strong interpersonal and collaboration skills
- California notary credential preferred; data privacy experience a plus
Compensation: $119,000 - $156,000 base
