We value a candidate with an ownership mindset who cares about their work product, is interested in improving self and the team, and wants a workplace to call home.We are seeking to hire a Legal Assistant/Paralegal to support the Litigation team around our three main practice areas of Business, Estate Planning and Real Estate. We are looking for an individual with at least 7 years of experience in a law firm supporting attorneys with civil litigation matters in our primary practice areas. In this role, the employee will provide a spectrum of legal support which will consist of the following responsibilities and require the following skills and experiences:ResponsibilitiesManage cases from inception to settlement/trial.Support Attorneys in the preparation, filing, and service of papers for use in court proceedings, including hearings, depositions, and trials.Monitor deadlines, conduct legal research, and draft legal documents.Efficiently handle all administrative tasks including answer and direct phone calls, open new files, schedule appointments, scan, copy, save documents, and send out mailings.Provide timely and courteous correspondence with clients and all outside vendors.Act as occasional backup for receptionist time off including answering phones and greeting office guests.Skills and Experiences7 or more years working experience as a Paralegal in a law office supporting civil litigation attorneys in Business, Estate Planning or Real Estate.Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, and Excel) and PDF writers (Nuance or Adobe).Experience using a legal case management software (ideally PracticeMaster/Tabs3) for document and correspondence management and billing time.Excellent administrative and organizational skills.Ability to work cooperatively with a team.Interest in taking initiative to suggest and/or implement process improvements.Ability to juggle multiple tasks at a time, maintain a high quality of work, and keep deadlines.Excellent proficiency of both written and spoken English and ability to proofread documents for accuracy.Paralegal Certificate or paralegal courses are a plus.Rmz Law Benefits of EmploymentWork with a leadership team that values the team, clients, and community and is dedicated to delivering quality, personalized legal services while fostering a workplace that cares for one another.Work with clients who appreciate our services, many of whom have been with us for generations.Work in a downtown Fort Lauderdale office with plenty of free open-air parking (no parking garage).10 Paid Holidays and additional Paid Time Off accrued upon start date and increases based on tenure.Subsidized Health Insurance including dental, vision, disability, and life insurance.Traditional and Roth 401k eligibility and employer matching after 1 year of employment.
