Sourcing Manager - Critical Components

Job Summary The Sourcing Director – Critical Components is responsible for developing and executing global sourcing strategies to secure high-quality, cost‑effective critical components and materials, ensuring supply chain continuity, minimizing risk, and driving innovation. Key Responsibilities Strategic Sourcing: develop and implement comprehensive sourcing strategies for critical components, aligning with business objectives. Supplier Management: build and maintain strong relationships with key suppliers, conduct performance reviews, and manage contracts. Cost Optimization: identify opportunities for cost reduction, quality improvement, and process efficiency. Risk Management: monitor supply chain risks, diversify supplier base, and implement contingency plans. Cross‑Functional Collaboration: work closely with finance, operations, legal, and engineering teams. Commodity & Component Expertise: oversee commodity management, finished goods, and component sourcing. Process Standardization: provide guidance on standardized RFP/bid and contract processes. Performance Metrics: track and report on key performance indicators related to cost savings, quality, delivery, and supplier performance. Qualifications & Skills Education: Bachelor’s degree in Business, Supply Chain Management, Engineering, or related field; Master’s degree or MBA preferred. Experience: 10+ years in sourcing, procurement, or supply chain management, with at least 3 years in a senior role within a multinational environment. Industry Knowledge: deep understanding of manufacturing processes, import sourcing practices, and global supply chain dynamics. Skills: strong negotiation, analytical, leadership, and communication abilities; proficiency in contract law, market analysis, and supplier relationship management. Technical: experience with LEAN manufacturing, supply management, and procurement software/tools. Data‑driven decision making: ability to interpret complex data and inform strategy. Track record of delivering cost efficiencies and process improvements in procurement. Experience managing international supplier relationships and global sourcing initiatives. Location Sunnyvale, CA Compensation The base salary range for this position is $200,000 to $240,000 annually. Actual compensation may include bonus and/or equity, determined by experience, skills, and qualifications.
