Precision Assembler II

Description We are looking for an experienced Level I Technician to support the maintenance and repair of Okuma spindles and mechanical subsystems. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in hands‑on technical work, be comfortable working in a fast‑paced production environment, and demonstrate excellent communication and problem‑solving skills. Core Responsibilities Clean, disassemble, inspect, and test Okuma spindles and mechanical subsystems. Use hand tools, power tools, and precision measuring devices to complete maintenance tasks. Read and interpret assembly drawings and part prints. Operate forklifts and cranes (training provided). Document work accurately and maintain clear records of operations. Required Qualifications High School diploma or equivalent. 2+ years of hands‑on experience as a Level I Technician working with Okuma spindles and/or mechanical subsystems. Strong attention to detail with a natural aptitude for troubleshooting and problem solving. Proficiency in the use of hand tools, power tools, and precision measuring devices. Familiarity with forklift operation and crane inspection/operation (training provided). Ability to understand and work from assembly drawings and part prints. Comfortable and effective in a fast‑paced, production‑focused setting. Basic computer skills including email, timekeeping systems, and internal business tools. Clear and professional verbal communication skills. Strong listening skills and the ability to document work accurately. Excellent math and reasoning skills: analyze problems, interpret data, reach sound conclusions, and follow written or diagram‑based instructions. Physical & Environmental Requirements Ability to stand, walk, and reach for the majority of the work shift. Able to lift, carry, push, or pull up to 70 pounds. Frequent bending, stooping, crouching, and reaching. Continuous use of hands for detailed assembly work and tool operation. Visual acuity sufficient for close‑range mechanical and inspection work (corrected or uncorrected). Ability to see clearly to perform all work‑related tasks at 20 inches or less. Finger dexterity required for extended periods during the shift. Work primarily in a warehouse/showroom environment with exposure to varying temperatures, industrial equipment, forklift traffic, and moderate to high noise levels. Regular use of PPE when working around cleaners, solvents, and aerosol paints. Occasional work in an office setting with standard equipment.
