Employee Type Full Time Exempt Manage Others No Contact information Name Maura F Schilling Phone View phone number on click.appcast.io Description Job Title: Accounting Manager Location: Cincinnati OH Department: Accounting / Finance Reports To: CFO FLSA Status: Exempt Job Type: Full-Time, In Office Position Overview: We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Construction Accounting Manager to oversee the financial health and accounting processes of our construction operations. This role is responsible for managing the day-to-day accounting functions, ensuring accurate job costing, financial reporting, and compliance with industry regulations. The ideal candidate will have a solid background in both accounting and construction, with a deep understanding of project-based accounting practices. Key Responsibilities: Oversee all aspects of construction accounting, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, general ledger, and job costing. Manage month-end and year-end close processes; ensure timely and accurate financial reporting. Implement budget analysis Monitor and report on job cost performance, budget variances, and profitability by project. Collaborate with project managers to track project budgets, change orders, billing, and collections. Ensure compliance with GAAP, internal controls, and company policies. Prepare and analyze financial statements, WIP (Work-In-Progress) schedules, and cash flow reports. Assist with financial audits, bonding requirements, and lender reporting. Liaise with external accountants, auditors, and other financial professionals as needed. Maintain and improve accounting systems, software, and reporting tools (e.g., Computerease). Oversee subcontractor compliance including lien waivers, insurance certificates, and 1099 processing. Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, (CPA preferred). 3+ years of accounting experience Proven experience in construction job costing and project accounting. Strong knowledge of GAAP and construction financial practices. Proficient in Microsoft Excel and financial reporting tools. Excellent organizational, analytical, and leadership skills. Strong communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to work in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment. Preferred Qualifications: Experience with AIA billing and contract administration. Familiarity with prevailing wage and certified payroll reporting. Multi-project and multi-entity accounting experience.
