Bring your expertise as an ASL Paraprofessional to an engaging contract position supporting students in a dedicated educational setting. This role, based near Schertz, TX, is essential for ensuring students with hearing loss receive the support they need to thrive academically and socially. You’ll work on-site within a single campus (specific location confirmed upon assignment selection), collaborating closely with educators and school staff. The assignment runs from ASAP to the end of May 2027, with a consistent 37.5-hour workweek.
Desired Qualifications and Background:
- Associates degree or higher, or
- At least 48 college semester hours recognized by a Texas education or regional agency plus completion of the Stedi.org paraeducator course with a passing score of 70% or higher, or
- Previous experience supporting children with hearing loss in pediatric or school-based settings
- Preferred: Bachelor’s degree
- Successful fingerprinting and background screening required
Core Responsibilities:
- Provide hands-on support to students who use ASL, supporting their academic and communication needs
- Collaborate with teachers and related staff to create inclusive classroom experiences
- Adapt and reinforce instructional materials to match each student’s IEP goals
- Assist in monitoring student progress, offering clear feedback to help guide their learning journey
- Support classroom management and maintain a safe, positive environment
- Travel between two sites may be occasionally required; both are conveniently located about 13 minutes apart
