ADMINISTRATIVE ASSISTANT Position#13764 $19.96/hour - $26.41/hour *See total compensation information at the bottom of announcement. The State of New Hampshire, Office of Professional Licensure and Certification has a full-time vacancy for Administrative Assistant. Summary: Performs administrative and office management functions for the Division of Licensing and Boad Administration within the Office of Professional Licensure and Certification. Provides assistance and support while maintaining confidentiality and timelines.
YOUR EXPERIENCE COUNTS: Each additional year of approved formal education may be substituted for one year of required work experience and/or each additional year of approved work experience may be substituted for one year of required formal education.
Other information: MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Education/Experience: Equivalent combination of 3 years of education and experience after completion of high school. Education and experience must be in business administration, business management, accounting, public administration or a related field. License/Certification: Valid driver's license and access to transportation Other Requirements: None Trainee Option: Candidates with an equivalent combination of 2+ years of relevant education and experience after completion of high school may be considered and hired in 'trainee status' for this position. PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: Strong writing and proofreading skills, attention to detail and ability to work under tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment. Knowledge of modern principles and practices of public or business administration. Knowledge of modern office methods and procedures. Knowledge of basic principles and practices of accounting. Ability to plan, assign and supervise the work of others. Ability to conduct studies and analyses contributing to the development of sound operational procedures. Ability to speak and write effectively. Ability to understand and carry out complex written or oral instructions. Ability to establish and maintain harmonious working relationships with administrative officials, other employees and the general public.

Responsibilities: Provides administrative support to the Division Director, Bureau Chiefs and Supervisors as requested, including scheduling coordination, preparation of documents and organization of materials for use by inspectors, investigators, boards, and leadership within the Office of Professional Licensure and Certification. Responds to inquiries from licensees, the public and board members regarding registration, licensure and renewal functions, complaint processes, and disciplinary actions. Prepares replies to correspondence in alignment with policy, procedure and law.
Exercises independent judgment when problem-solving and interpreting rules and procedures in order to resolve administrative issues. Coordinates inspections with support staff, including writing and sending appropriate correspondence. Coordinates, schedules, and attends meetings as needed and requested. Prepares minutes of meetings and responds to requests from the public in compliance with the requirements of NH RSA 91-A. Performs duties related to the rulemaking process and rewriting of rules in accordance with the Rules Manual and Board discussions, to include researching rules and statutes as directed. Supports the Division Director and Bureau Chiefs with tracking legislation and preparing for hearings to include compiling information and summarizing data. Researches and prepares statistical information and works on special projects for the Division Director and Bureau Chiefs. Operates various software applications to maintain multiple office tracking databases, spreadsheets, reports and charts.
