Job Opportunity – Medical-Surgical Telemetry Registered Nurse – Wisconsin

Start Date: October 12, 2026

Location: Madison, Wisconsin

Compensation: Details provided to qualified applicants

Schedule: 12-hour shifts between 0700-2330, day and evening rotation, every other weekend required, holidays as needed

Highlights:

• 28-bed acute care medical unit specializing in General Internal Medicine, Geriatrics, and Special Pathogens
• Fast-paced teaching environment within a Magnet-designated academic medical center
• Epic charting system with 20 hours of orientation provided
• Daily census of 28-29 patients with comprehensive interdisciplinary support including IV teams, respiratory services, rapid response teams, pharmacy, and more
• Opportunity to provide specialty care for patients with infectious diseases as part of the Special Pathogens program
• Floating to similar units as needed; candidates must reside more than 50 miles from the facility

Requirements:

• Active Wisconsin RN license or compact state RN license
• Minimum 2 years of acute care experience within the last 3 years in Medical-Surgical Telemetry
• Previous travel nursing experience required
• Current BLS certification
• Proficiency with Epic charting system required
• Must pass mandatory telemetry competency exam prior to start date with strict passing criteria (100% identification of lethal rhythms, 80% overall passing score)
• Flu vaccine required (medical/religious exemptions only)
• Skills required: Telemetry interpretation and dysrhythmia management, blood product administration, central line and PICC line care, IV insulin protocols and titration, non-invasive airway management, oxygen administration, isolation precautions, and use of rapid response/code teams
