Position: Accounting Specialist
Location: Bergen County, NJ (on-site)
Position Summary
We are seeking an Accounting Specialist to support day-to-day accounting operations, including Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, cash application, and financial reporting. This role also provides cross-functional support to operations and administrative functions as needed.

We are a family-owned manufacturing business with approximately 50 employees, operating in a collaborative environment where cross-functional support and teamwork are essential.
Responsibilities
- Manage Accounts Payable, including invoice entry, matching, approvals, and payments
- Manage Accounts Receivable, including collections, statements, and customer accounts
- Monitor customer credit limits and support credit hold recommendations
- Apply cash receipts and maintain accurate records
- Assist with monthly close and prepare reconciliations
- Develop financial and operational reports in company ERP software
- Maintain vendor records and support new vendor setup
- Prepare and calculate commission reports in coordination with the Sales team
- Support preparation and analysis of cost data, including labor, material, and overhead inputs
Additional Support Responsibilities:
- Backup coverage for front desk, phones, visitors, deliveries, and filing
- Backup for order processing and invoicing, documentation, and customer coordination when needed
- Backup support for payroll processing when needed
Responsibilities may evolve and include additional tasks as needed.
Qualifications
- Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred
- 2–5 years of accounting experience, including AP and AR
- Experience working within an ERP system (Epicor a plus)
- Strong Excel skills and proficiency with Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, etc.)
- Experience or knowledge of cost accounting in a manufacturing environment is a plus
