Sets schedules for kitchen staff and coordinates volunteer needs./liliEnsures a clean kitchen for the next shift. Assuring appliances, equipment, floors and dishes are cleaned and ready for the next shift to use./liliMakes maintenance requests as needed for kitchen equipment./liliCreates menus in a required timeframe to meet client and grant requirements./liliUses creativity and innovation in menu development and service delivery./liliEnsures appropriate levels of inventory, including food, kitchen and janitorial supplies are maintained./liliWorks with warehouse in utilizing food donations as budget supplementation for menus./liliWrites and oversees labor schedule for kitchen./liliEnforces the guidelines of the CDPHE-CACFP (Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment, Child and Adult Care Food Program) including ensuring proper handling of food and safety techniques./liliManages storage of food products and other materials necessary to the food service operations, ensuring they are safely and appropriately stored and organized./liliPrepares, plans and executes menus for special events hosted by the agency./liliMonitors that all sanitation and safety standards are routinely practiced in the kitchen in all aspects of food production and preparation. Mitigate and food safety/audit violations dealing with the kitchen./liliCarries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with Agencys values and policies, and applicable laws./liliResponsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems/liliMonitors costing of needed raw materials are within budget./liliMonitors portion control, waste and maintains appropriate levels of needed inventory./liliOversees volunteers in food services tasks./liliCompletes necessary administrative duties (paperwork, etc.) timely and accurately./liliSupports, promotes and adheres to Catholic Charities vision, mission, values and Code of Ethics./liliReflects Catholic Charities commitment to treating all persons with dignity and respect./liliMaintains confidentiality of client and agency information./liliRegular and predictable attendance./li/ulpRequirements/ppQualifications:/pulliSupervision and kitchen management experience in institutional and/or restaurant setting./liliDemonstrated knowledge of commercial food preparation, production sanitation and safety standards./liliDemonstrated ability to safely use commercial grade kitchen equipment/liliAbility to effectively lead and motivate staff through application of Agency values/liliThe ability to function independently and maintain self-sufficiency with minimal supervision./liliExpress excellent interpersonal communication skills, flexibility and willingness to shift priorities as needed./liliBasic computer skills in Microsoft office suite for menu creation, food ordering and general communications/liliKnowledge of the service populations cultural and socioeconomic characteristics and the appropriate techniques and practices for the client population./liliAbility to interact effectively as a team member and independently with Agency staff and with a diverse client base./li/ulpEducation and/or Experience:/ppAn equivalent of four years related managerial kitchen experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience./ppCertificates, Licenses, Registrations:/pulliObtain Serve Safe Certificate within 30 days of hire/liliObtain CACFP training within 6 months of hire/li/ulpCompensation Benefits:/ppSalary: $27.00 per hour.
