You will utilize your strong technical, business competencies and customer service skills to provide the highest level of business and technical consultation to sales teams, prospects and customers to support sales goals.As a Solutions Engineer you will:Deep understanding of AI concepts and best practicesProvide advice in customer use cases discovery and requirements workshopsAbility to troubleshoot data science workloadsActively participate within the Cloudera communityCreate and deliver customer-centric solution designsPresent roadmap, vision, proposed architectures and business outcomes to technical teamsResponsible for defining technical selling approach for accountsRegularly participate in account penetration / success strategy planning, working with sales counterparts and solutions engineering managementUnderstand the core differentiators across the competitive landscapeUnderstand the technology ecosystemTransform customer feedback into actionable product roadmap itemsA share of evangelism activities (blogs, meetups, industry events) Mentor associates, participate in creation and maintenance of enablement materials across the teamParticipate in contribution to internal and external knowledge repositoriesWe’re excited about you if you have:Hands-on experience with the full lifecycle of AI models - from development and testing to production deployment, monitoring, and retraining/versioningYou have strong experience with AI ecosystems (Agentic AI, Ethical AI solutions, Generative AI solutions and AI Development Tools like Cursor, CoPilot and Claude).AI and/or Data Science use-case developmentYou have an interest in Data Science and understand the difference between Data Engineering and Applied ScienceYou have experience as a Solutions Engineer / Pre-Sales Solutions Architecture as a field of practice (an ability to listen to customer requirements, whiteboard and propose solution architectures, and be hands-on with the tech) to design, build, and demonstrate real business value3-5 + years of professional work experience in a similar positionEnterprise Software and Big Data experienceDemonstrated understanding of the challenges in operations, Security and Data Governance within the enterpriseBachelor’s Degree in a Technical FieldYou are on good terms with Infrastructure (Hardware, Storage, Network), Java/.NET, and SQL.You have strong Linux skillsDemonstrated Strong Written and verbal Communication skillsDemonstrated problem solving and analytical skillsYou may also have:Demonstrated knowledge of Big Data Ecosystem (HDFS & YARN, Spark, Impala, KUDU, Solr etc ), can talk to the benefits of a centralized architecture for both data management and data accessStreaming experience (Nifi, Kafka, Flink, Spark, etc.)NoSQL experience (HBase, Cassandra, MongoDB, etc.)EDW experience – Teradata, Netezza, GreenPlum, ExadataData Science and ML experience – (R, Python, Deep Learning Frameworks etc.)Integration Products experience (Talend, DataStage, Informatica BDM, Qlik, Tableau, Zoomdata, IBM, Oracle, etc.)You thrive in a changing environmentFour year degree (Bachelor's) from accredited university requiredAbility to travel domestically and internationallyThis role is not eligible for immigration sponsorshipThe anticipated annual base salary range for this position is:Massachusetts: $150,000 - $185,000New York: $150,000 - $185,000Connecticut: $150,000 - $185,000Individual compensation within the published range is determined by the candidate's skills, experience, qualifications, and primary work location. In addition to base pay, sales roles are eligible for Cloudera's commission plan, while non-sales roles are eligible for the corporate incentive plan.
