Materials Coordinator

Job Duties

Material Receiving

• Receive incoming materials and compare them against purchase orders for accuracy in quantity and quality; inspect for damage, defects, or discrepancies and report issues to the relevant department.

• Maintain accurate records of materials, including packing slips, invoices, and other documentation, ensuring everything is complete and in compliance with company policies and procedures.

• Properly label, store, and organize received materials in designated locations, coordinating with warehouse and inventory teams for efficient storage and retrieval.

• Communicate with suppliers and vendors regarding discrepancies, damaged goods, or missing items, and keep purchasing and production updated on material availability.

• Conduct monthly inventory checks to reconcile physical stock with recorded levels, and provide input to help optimize inventory based on demand and production needs.

• Follow safety protocols and applicable regulations during material handling and storage.

Material Cutting

• Cut sheets of material to specific dimensions for printing, reviewing engineering drawings, specifications, and work orders to understand cutting requirements.

• Set up cutting machines, including calibration and tool adjustment, based on material type and specifications.

• Load and unload materials onto cutting machines, ensuring proper alignment and secure positioning for accurate cuts.

• Operate cutting machinery according to established procedures, ensuring precision and adherence to specifications.

• Inspect cut materials for quality and accuracy; reject or rework materials as needed.

• Perform routine maintenance on cutting equipment and report malfunctions to maintenance personnel.

• Follow safety guidelines and use required personal protective equipment (PPE) throughout the cutting process.

• Maintain accurate records of quantities, dimensions, and any issues encountered during cutting.

Minimum Education Required

• High School Diploma or GED preferred

Minimum Experience Required

• 1–3 years of related work experience and/or training preferred

• Self-motivated with the ability to work in a team-oriented environment with limited supervision, following documented procedures

• Detail-oriented and quality-focused, with strong problem-solving and analytical skills

• Strong written and verbal communication skills

• Motivated to strive for continuous improvement

• Able to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced, changing environment

Vision - Coverage through VSP – one option available. Eligibility begins on the first day of the month following 60 days of employment. This is a shared cost benefit.

401k – Administered through The Standard. Eligibility begins the first day of the calendar quarter after 90 days of employment. Pre-Tax and Roth options available. Minimum age is 21 to participate. Employer match of 3% of gross pay.

Life Insurance – General Label provides $15,000 coverage at no cost to the employee.

Long Term Disability – General Label provides this benefit at no cost to the employee. See Employee Handbook for more information.
