Job Description

Registered Nurse (RN) - Psychiatric / Behavioral Health Nurse

Provide comprehensive nursing care to patients with psychiatric, behavioral, and mental health conditions
Conduct thorough assessments, including mental status examinations and risk evaluations
Develop, implement, and evaluate individualized patient care plans
Administer and monitor psychotropic and other prescribed medications
Perform crisis intervention and de-escalation techniques as needed
Monitor patients for safety risks, including suicidal ideation and self-harm behaviors
Collaborate with psychiatrists, psychologists, social workers, and interdisciplinary teams
Support patients during detoxification and withdrawal protocols (CIWA, COWS)
Provide patient and family education on mental health conditions, medications, and coping strategies
Maintain accurate documentation in electronic medical records (EMR)
Ensure compliance with facility policies, regulatory standards, and patient confidentiality
Participate in admission assessments, treatment planning, and discharge coordination
