Sr. Mechanical Engineer

We’re excited to partner with a well-established Twin Cities manufacturer in its search for a Senior Mechanical Engineer to join its engineering team. This is a highly hands-on opportunity for an engineer with strong SolidWorks experience and exposure to cable assemblies or wire harnesses. The individual will play a key role in new product development, customer-driven design projects, production documentation and continuous improvement of existing products. The company is specifically looking for someone who can bring deeper mechanical design expertise while helping expand its cable and wire harness capabilities. This is an excellent opportunity for a technically strong engineer who enjoys working in a collaborative, small-team environment and wants meaningful ownership over products from concept through production. Responsibilities: Lead mechanical design and development of new products Design and develop custom cable assemblies and wire harnesses Create 3D mechanical designs, BOMs, assembly drawings and production documentation Support products from initial concept through production Work directly with customers on design reviews, requirements and technical issues Troubleshoot product installation and functional issues Support R&D and evaluate new technologies Maintain and improve existing product lines Collaborate with engineering, manufacturing and other internal teams Support applicable product certification and compliance requirements Provide technical guidance and mentorship to engineers and technicians Help expand the company's cable and wire harness product capabilities Desired Skills And Experience: Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field 4+ years of Mechanical Engineering experience Strong SolidWorks and 3D mechanical design experience Experience with cable assemblies and/or wire harnesses Experience designing and developing electronic products for manufacturing Experience creating production documentation, including BOMs, drawings and design releases Ability to manage multiple engineering projects simultaneously Strong cross-functional communication and collaboration skills Customer-facing technical experience is a plus Experience with other CAD platforms may be considered with strong wire harness/cable experience #J-18808-Ljbffr
