Job Description
Title
Labor & Delivery Nurse

Schedule
Shift Length: 12-hour shifts

Assignment Details
Contract Length: Minimum 10 weeks
Guaranteed Hours: 36 or 48 hours/week (facility may allow 40)

Requirements
- Minimum 1 year of Labor & Delivery experience required
- BLS, ACLS, NRP certifications required
- Experience in a large Labor & Delivery unit/facility
- Experience with postpartum (3s/4s), infant/baby care, and meconium deliveries
- Familiarity with external and internal fetal monitoring

Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide care to patients throughout the labor and delivery process
- Monitor fetal heart rates and maternal vital signs during labor
- Assist with C-sections and other medically assisted deliveries
- Provide postpartum care, including fundal assessment and newborn care
- Participate in critical procedures and protocols as required

Compliance / Notes
- Flu vaccine required (medical/religious exemptions allowed)
- Drug screen required within 30 days of start
- Maximum of 7 days request time off preferred
- 24-hour orientation required
