O'Steen Automotive Group is searching for a high-energy, results-driven Automotive General Sales Manager (GSM) to lead sales operations at O'Steen Acura and O'Steen Volvo Cars of Athens.

This isn't an opportunity for someone who wants to sit behind a desk, review reports, and hope the numbers improve.

We're looking for a hands-on leader who knows how to SELL, COACH, MOTIVATE, and WIN!

We want a GSM who can desk a deal, structure a trade, maximize gross profit, coach a salesperson, develop sales managers, manage inventory, and CLOSE BUSINESS!

The right candidate will bring the experience, drive, accountability, and positive energy needed to take our growing sales organization to the next level.

THE OPPORTUNITY

As General Sales Manager, you will be responsible for driving the performance, profitability, and day-to-day success of the New Vehicle, Pre-Owned Vehicle, and F&I departments across both dealerships.

You'll work closely with dealership leadership and O'Steen Automotive Group's executive team to develop winning sales strategies, strengthen processes, and create a high-performing sales culture.

But this role is about more than managing numbers.

We need a GSM who can still sell!

You should be comfortable stepping onto the showroom floor, sitting down with a customer, working a pencil, structuring a deal, overcoming objections, and helping your team close the sale.

You should know how to turn opportunities into appointments, appointments into showroom visits, and showroom visits into SOLD customers.

We want a leader who doesn't just expect results but knows how to teach the team to achieve them.

WHAT YOU WILL DO

Sales Leadership & Performance

• Lead and oversee daily sales operations for both Acura and Volvo dealerships.

• Drive new and pre-owned vehicle sales volume, gross profit, and overall departmental profitability.

• Maintain a strong, visible presence on the showroom floor.

• Actively desk deals, structure trades, negotiate transactions, and assist with closing opportunities.

• Establish clear sales goals, daily activity expectations, and performance standards.

• Monitor sales KPIs, closing percentages, appointment performance, and overall sales productivity.

• Lead daily sales meetings, one-on-one coaching, and ongoing training.

• Develop sales managers and sales professionals into confident, high-performing closers.

• Create a culture of urgency, accountability, teamwork, and continuous improvement.

Inventory & Profitability

• Oversee new and pre-owned inventory management, pricing strategies, and merchandising.

• Monitor inventory aging, turn rates, market conditions, and vehicle profitability.

• Work closely with the Used Vehicle Manager to evaluate trades, appraisals, and acquisition opportunities.

• Maximize front-end gross profit while maintaining competitive pricing and an exceptional customer experience.

• Partner with F&I leadership to improve PVR, product penetration, finance opportunities, and overall deal profitability.

• Analyze sales performance and identify opportunities to improve volume and gross.

Customer Experience & Sales Processes

• Ensure every customer receives an exceptional, professional, and transparent buying experience.

• Maintain strong CSI performance and positive online reputation.

• Oversee internet lead management, CRM accountability, speed-to-lead, appointment setting, and follow-up processes.

• Ensure the team consistently executes dealership sales processes and customer communication standards.

• Step in when needed to resolve customer concerns, overcome objections, and save deals.

• Build lasting customer relationships that drive repeat and referral business.

Team Development & Accountability

• Recruit, train, coach, and retain talented sales professionals and managers.

• Hold team members accountable for performance, productivity, and customer experience.

• Identify opportunities for improvement and implement actionable coaching plans.

• Recognize wins, celebrate success, and create an environment where employees are motivated to perform.

• Lead by example with professionalism, enthusiasm, integrity, and a strong work ethic.

EXPERIENCE & QUALIFICATIONS

Required/Preferred Experience:

• Proven automotive dealership sales management experience.

• Previous experience as a General Sales Manager, Sales Manager, Used Vehicle Manager, or similar leadership position.

• Demonstrated success in increasing sales volume, gross profit, closing percentages, and overall dealership performance.

• Strong hands-on experience desking deals, structuring trades, and closing sales.

• Proven ability to recruit, train, motivate, and develop high-performing sales teams.

• Strong understanding of new and pre-owned vehicle operations.

• Experience with inventory management, vehicle appraisals, pricing, and market analysis.

• Solid understanding of F&I operations, PVR, and dealership profitability.

• Experience managing internet leads, CRM processes, and sales performance metrics.

• Ability to interpret sales reports and financial performance indicators.

• Premium, luxury, or import-brand dealership experience strongly preferred.

• Excellent leadership, communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.

• Valid driver's license and acceptable driving record.
