RN Emergency Department

Job Summary:

The Registered Nurse in the Emergency Department provides skilled nursing care to patients of all ages, including infants and adults, as well as boarding patients in the ED. This role involves patient assessment, emergency interventions, and collaboration with the healthcare team in a fast-paced Level 1 Trauma Center environment. The nurse must maintain current certifications and demonstrate strong clinical skills to deliver high-quality emergency care. Responsibilities:

• Provide nursing care to Emergency Department patients and ED holds.
• Perform patient assessments, monitor vital signs, and respond to emergency situations.
• Administer medications and treatments as prescribed.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members to develop and implement patient care plans.
• Document patient care and communicate changes in patient condition promptly.
• Utilize EPIC electronic health record system for patient documentation and care coordination.
• Maintain compliance with hospital policies and emergency department protocols.

Required Skills & Certifications:

• Current and active Ohio Registered Nurse license.
• American Heart Association certifications: ACLS, PALS, and BLS.
• Experience with EPIC electronic health record system.
• Minimum of 1 year nursing experience, preferably in emergency or critical care settings.
• Strong clinical assessment and emergency nursing skills.

Preferred Skills & Certifications:

• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) degree.
• Trauma Nursing Core Course (TNCC) certification.

Special Considerations:

• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, large Level 1 Trauma Center environment.
• Must maintain all required certifications and licenses without exception.
• Comfortable managing a diverse patient population including infants and adults.

Scheduling:

• All shifts available; scheduling may include day, evening, night, weekends, and holidays.
• Shift assignments based on departmental needs and staffing requirements.
