Job Summary Receives callers and visitors, determines nature of business, and directs callers/visitors to proper person or office by performing the following duties. Reports to the Superintendent or his designee. Essential duties and responsibilities: Receives incoming telephone calls and transfers to proper person. Greets visitors and directs them to proper person or office. Types memos, correspondence, reports, and other documents. Performs mathematical calculations. Makes future appointments and answer inquiries. Processes outgoing mail and maintains postage machine. Compiles and orders office and copier supplies for Central Office. Maintains District Web Page, District calendar and Web alerts. Schedules meetings for Board Room. Non-essential duties and responsibilities: Other duties as assigned. Qualification Requirements Education & Experience: One year certificate from college or technical school; or three to six months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Language Skills: Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations. Must have working knowledge of WORD and EXCEL programs. Bi-lingual skills are beneficial, but not required. Mathematical Skills: Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, and common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio and percent. Reasoning Ability: Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions. Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations. Physical Demands: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit, stand, walk, talk or hear. The employee frequently is required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls and reach with hands and arms. The employee is occasionally required to bend, stoop, squat, climb stairs, crouch, kneel and balance. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 10 pounds. The employee is occasionally required to push, pull, carry, lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus. Work Environment: The noise level in the work environment is usually quiet. The employee is occasionally exposed to outside weather conditions for short periods of time.
