This is a unique opportunity for a sales professional to gain experience selling across two distinct brands, each offering its own differentiated guest experience and market positioning. The right candidate is interested in a career in hospitality sales and thrives in a fast-paced environment. The Group Sales Manager is a fully competent individual who has experience in the sales process and function of a hotel. This position will be complex between both hotels. The Group Sales Manager is a proven sales professional with a strong understanding of the hotel sales process and a record of success in direct sales. This individual will play a key role in driving business by actively prospecting, developing, and closing group opportunities, positioning Thompson Austin and tommie Austin as premier destinations for meetings and events. This role is ideal for a relationship-driven professional who is motivated to push boundaries, deliver elevated service, and make a measurable impact across multiple properties. Responsibilities will include but are not limited to the following: Actively prospect and develop group business through outbound sales efforts, lead management, and proactive relationship building. Represent the Thompson Austin and tommie Austin at industry events, sales trips, and trade shows to generate new business and elevate brand visibility. Host client entertainment and site inspections to strengthen relationships, showcase the brand experience, and drive conversions. Manage the proposal and contracting process from start to finish, including prompt lead response, RFP preparation, and customized proposals that align with brand standards and client needs. Create and execute quarterly sales action plans focused on business development, market penetration, and revenue growth targets. Maintain detailed and organized documentation throughout the entire booking cycle, ensuring accurate communication with key departments. Deliver personalized, high-touch service to clients, collaborating closely with Operations, Event Planning, and Banquets to ensure a seamless guest experience. Leverage Hyatt systems, sales tools, and CRM to track performance, manage pipeline, and uncover cross-selling opportunities across segments. Actively engage in weekly sales strategy meetings, business review, and internal planning sessions to align efforts and optimize execution. Support broader sales and marketing initiatives as needed, and perform additional duties as assigned by leadership. Knowledge and Skills Proficient in sales techniques including prospecting, negotiating, business writing, and impactful presentations. Strong solution-oriented mindset with the ability to proactively identify, prevent, and resolve challenges. Knowledge of industry trends, market dynamics, and the local competitive landscape. Self-driven, resourceful, and creative-able to think through a brand lens to deliver innovative solutions and financial results. The 193 king room tommie Austin is built for the spirited adventurer. Guest's will be encouraged to explore Austin's unparalleled offerings and in every square foot, tommie is an opportunity to meet and be inspired. Where art and atmosphere seep in from the surrounding neighborhood, and collaborations seep back out. tommie will feature a bespoke coffee and wine shop and allow guests to be the master of their own stay while still offering warm and authentic service. Both hotels are anchored on the ground floor by The 5th Street Diner + The Royale Room, a street side concept serving daily fare for locals, residents and guests alike. Qualifications A true desire to satisfy the needs of others in a fast paced environment Refined verbal and written communication skills A minimum of 1-3 years of hotel sales or comparable experience preferred Must be proficient in general computer knowledge.
