About the Role

The Company is seeking a Chief Investment Officer (CIO) to lead the launch of a full robo-advisory offering, with a focus on converting a significant client base to a discretionary, algorithmically-managed platform. This is a hands-on, builder's role that requires the CIO to personally design and run model portfolios, write the investment philosophy, select funds and ETFs, and define allocation and rebalancing logic. The successful candidate will also be the public face of the investment strategy, involved in regulatory filings, and will work closely with the engineering team to ensure the product is built and shipped according to the defined specifications. Applicants for the CIO position at the company should have a proven track record of building and running model portfolios, with a preference for those who have experience in a small-to-midsize RIA or robo-advisor setting. A CFA charter or equivalent is required, along with a strong working knowledge of modern portfolio theory, asset allocation methodology, and passive fund/ETF selection. The role demands a startup mindset, as the CIO will be responsible for building the investment function from the ground up. The ideal candidate will be comfortable with a hands-on approach, be able to write product requirements for the engineering team, and have the ability to set compliant talking points for client interactions. A background purely in compliance or legal is not suitable, as the focus is on investment judgment and the ability to work in a fast-paced, rapidly expanding FinTech environment.
