The Production Associate operates machinery used in the metal recycling process and supports daily production activities in an outdoor environment. This role involves repetitive lifting, transporting scrap metal to designated machines, and maintaining a clean and organized work area while following strict safety protocols and collaborating with team members to meet production goals.

Responsibilities

• Operate machinery used in the metal recycling process in a safe and efficient manner.
• Perform repetitive lifting of metal materials weighing up to 50 lbs throughout the shift.
• Transport scrap metal to designated recycling machines and ensure proper placement.
• Monitor equipment during operation and report any issues or irregularities promptly.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of the work area, including removal of debris and proper storage of materials.
• Follow all safety protocols, company procedures, and operational guidelines at all times.
• Collaborate with team members and supervisors to meet or exceed daily production goals.
• Support general production and general labor tasks as needed to ensure smooth workflow.

• Ability to perform physically demanding tasks, including repetitive lifting of up to 50 lbs.
• Experience with machine operation in a production or manufacturing environment preferred.
• Demonstrated strong work ethic and reliability, including consistent attendance and punctuality.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and as part of a team.
• Willingness to adhere to safety standards, procedures, and company policies at all times.
• Comfort working in a general production or general labor environment.

• Prior experience in metal recycling, production, or manufacturing environments is an asset.
• Familiarity with general production processes and machine operation.
• Ability to adapt to changing tasks and production priorities.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to maintaining a safe work area.

Work Environment

This position is based in an outdoor facility where work continues in all weather conditions. The role follows a Monday through Friday schedule with three shift options: 1st shift from 7:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m., 2nd shift from 3:00 p.m. to 11:00 p.m., and 3rd shift from 11:00 p.m. to 7:00 a.m. You will work around metal recycling machinery, handle scrap metal materials, and perform physically demanding tasks such as repetitive lifting. The environment is production-focused, with an emphasis on safety, cleanliness, and organization. Appropriate work attire suitable for outdoor, all-weather conditions and industrial work is required.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Valdosta, GA.

The pay range for this position is $18.25 - $21.25/hr.

This is a fully onsite position in Valdosta,GA.
