Principal Power & Analog Design Engineer

Position Overview Principal Power & Analog Design Engineer – onsite role in McKinney, TX. The role requires U.S. citizenship and a DoD Secret clearance. Responsibilities include leading power and analog design for MPD department products such as missiles, radars, and electronic warfare systems. Requirements and Qualifications Minimum of 8 years of relevant experience in power and analog design. Degree in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics). Design, analysis, test or simulation experience with linear converters and non‑isolated topologies such as buck, boost, buck‑boost. Experience with at least one isolated converter topology (flyback, half‑bridge, full‑bridge, forward, push‑pull, resonant). EMI filter design, transformer or inductor design experience. Proficiency in a schematic capture/circuit board layout CAD package. Use of tools such as MATLAB, MathCAD, Mathematica or similar. Knowledge of Texas Instruments C‑2000 or Microchip PIC controllers, VHDL, real‑time operating systems, CAN‑bus, UART, RS‑422. Three‑phase power systems, power factor control, inverter/rectifier development and experience with military specifications. Experience with project management tools, Earned Value, Agile Execution, and leading teams through development to production. Strong communication and documentation skills. Demonstrated mentorship of junior engineers and intellectual property generation (patents & publications). Desired (Valued) Qualifications Advanced degrees in Electrical Engineering or related STEM fields. Experience designing at the circuit card stack level considering thermal, structural, mechanical, reliability and quality concerns. Robust analysis of analog or digital power converters, including control techniques and voltage/current mode stability. Experience with SIMPLIS, SABER, Siemens Xpedition (xDX Designer, xPCB Layout, Hyperlynx) or similar simulator tools. Knowledge of electrolytic and magnetic component design for power electronics. Lab equipment knowledge (power supplies, electronic loads, multimeters, oscilloscopes, spectrum analyzers). Proposal development experience and ability to present to customers and management. Experience in intellectual property generation and patent development. Salary USD 107,500 – 204,500 (good faith estimate).
